Weirdest requests in the office suggestion box

Workers put some far-out requests in the office suggestion box, according to a CareerBuilder survey.
When asked to give the most memorable requests they ever received, more than 2,900 managers submitted responses including:
- Allow people to change their clothes in their cubicles.
- Add a tanning bed in the break room.
- Put beer in the vending machine.
- Cover jail time under family medical leave.
- Institute “bikini Fridays.”
- Require work only during daylight hours (requester was afraid of the dark).
- Set aside a special area for medical marijuana smokers.
- The HR director should wear nicer shoes.
- Replace an employee’s desk with a futon so he could work lying down.
- Put a gliding chair in the lactation room so any employee could use it to take a nap.
- Install an employee swimming pool.
- Schedule the team meeting in Hawaii.

LOL! These are pretty good. The beer vending machine would never fly. I’ve only seen those in Japan.
But I say more offices should have an on-site fitness center so employees don’t feel stranded with nothing to do on their lunch hour. Oh yeah, with a jacuzzi and sauna in it to unwind at the end of the workday before going out and battling rush-hour traffic on the way home.
And make telecommuting a reality for more workers.
I’m not sure I really want to see my co-workers in a hot tub. Ewww.
Not a suggestion, but I got a kick out of “install an employee swimming pool” - I once worked at a company that built a company gym, with backboards, net & stuff for tennis/volleyball,
and two raquetball courts!
Every three months, they had a “profit sharing meeting”, where the company bought beer and pizza, and everybody got a bonus.
They left the beer keg in the cafeteria so you could go have a
few after work.
May as well forget Bikini Fridays anywhere I’ve worked. Trust me, you would NOT want to see those hippos in a bikini.
Oh for the love of God I just had a visual of Turbie (thisisnotanexit) or tenyrs or ktgurl or HAL in swimsuits - Geez I need a drink.

We had this HUGE open area where I used to work. Me and another employee were trying to convince them to put some exercise equipment in there set up with laptops so we could work while working out.
Lay off the DONUTS turbie and you won’t be as obese as you are!

And/or get a lunch paid by the employer and 90 mnutes to enjoy it.

I am all about the 4 day work week, 10-11 hours x 4 days, plus working from home in the off time (if you can’t get everything done).
3 day weekend every week plus more productivity on the days there… should be an option if not mandatory.
my work gets the birthday “floating holiday” and I’m sure a lot of other places do too. though you have to be on the job at least a year to be able to use it.
it’s one of the rare perks of the job!!

I wouldnt mind having a bikini day I have so many cute ones but wait the thought of my co-workers in one would be horrible.

and they’re always eating a salad when you go out to lunch, but really that’s like just a midday snack but there will be 3 more full meals to follow.
and they’re always the first ones to complain when anyone female in the office actually looks halfway decent!

I used to be on a “workplace committee” at my last job and we actively sought out feedback and comments, especially when the committee first formed. one of the ones I’ll never forget was the “put couches/beds in the break or conference room” so people could take a nap when they felt tired.
How about this one - post something honor Veterans on Veteran’s Day.
We crated the freedom that allows people to spend time on such ridiculous things.
