Microsemi Corp. in Irvine has agreed to buy Nexsem Inc., an Irvine integrated circuit designer, in an asset purchase.
Terms were not disclosed today but more details will be released at Microsemi’s conference call on July 23, said spokesman Rob Adams. There will be no impact on jobs.
Microsemi designs and manufactures high-performance analog and mixed signal integrated circuits and high reliability semiconductors. Nexsem markets DC conversion devices for high-volume commercial products such as LCD-TV.
“In Nexsem we have found an excellent complement to our existing power management offerings,” Microsemi President James J. Peterson said in a written statement. “Focusing on higher power five- to 40-watt applications, Nexsem’s impressive technology nicely supplements our industry-leading low-power product offering… in several high-growth markets.”
