Entertainer Britney Spears’ current world tour through June is using counterfeit-proof backstage passes made with software from Get Flipped!
in Orange.
Yes, the passes will be used at Spears’ appearances April 19 and 20 at the Honda Center in Anaheim.
Crew and special guests will receive the passes that feature two photo images that appear animated when the badge is moved.
Get Flipped! uses Pro-Studio software to capture two images and then interlaces them to print out one 3-D and lenticular photo.
If you’re unfamiliar with the term, think of those old baseball cards that you bent one way to see the player standing and bent the other way to see him leap to catch a ball.
Lenticular photography became quite popular in the 1940s and 1950s when these “magic-motion” images were used on everything from record album covers, greeting cards, political buttons and Cracker Jack prizes, according to Get Flipped! Chief Executive Raleigh Souther, a former LA Times photographer and editor.
Get Flipped! initially used its technology for event photography.
One product is called Flip Zone, a strip of photos similar to the ones you get in a photo booth at the fair, except the images “move.”
The photo subjects pose for two different photos for each of three cells on the strip. The finished film strip is an animated bookmark souvenir for the guests of the event where it was made.
Then Justin Timberlake’s 2007 “FutureSex/LoveShow” World Tourbought Get Flipped! software for backstage passes.
Since then, the Orange County company has taken its technology to parties for movies including Superbad, Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D, Marie Antoinette, and You Don’t Mess With the Zohan; private parties for Paris Hilton and Terri Hatcher; and events like the World Music Awards, Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, and the finale party for American Idol.

And I care becaaaaaause…..????
Wow, most important news story all year!
I thought it was the massive amount of second hand pot smoke that rendered the perception of images moving.
Yawn……..Zzzzzzz
Really, are you kidding me, is this worth writing about?
Who is this Britney Spears you speak of?
And how much did Get Flipped pay to have this lame story written??
so I guess Britney is still following Justin.
The OC Register never ceases to amaze me with what they consider to be news…..
i am loving the responses. these stories are worthless. ocr’s OCcentric view of the news has created a high school newspaper.
yah still wants him and she knows it
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
I CARE BECAUSE?
Because of the same reason I gave Kingo: you posted to the story.
Wasn’t aware that her backstage passes needed to be limited, or is this just a way to be sure those crazy fans if hers are accounted for and show up? I understand that Vanilla-Ice is going to use them on his next tour too.
i heart Britney. LUV!!!
lol vanilla ice
An acquaintance of mine went to her concert in Northern Cal and Brit came out and said “Hello, Sacramento!” ~ but she wasn’t in or near Sacto!
It is great news for the local business Get Flipped. A growing local company that could employ some folks.
i dont get it.but love fake passes use them to walk in world series. plus super bowl n oscars.i used i fake pass to stand next to a president that shows how bad are nations secutity is.even though i liked him.no bad intention just love big events. dont get the point is she breaking a law at her own show..that be cool ..
Hey at least crack addicts and the “Leave Britney Alone” crowd like this story
But seriously there’s nothing wrong with stories that report the range of small businesses in OC. If that means a virtual press release once in a while that’s OK. I think it would be better to interview the owner and get some insight of how they are positively impacting the local economy (they are growing, hiring, becoming profitable.)
This is news because…you are reading the Orange County newspaper and the company is based in the city of Orange. Aren’t you glad that this is taking up space, instead of some kind of horrible news? Look on the brighter side.
hey - GET FLIPPED !
