Company’s holiday cookie sales to benefit local charity

Gloria’s Gourmet Cookies in Irvine will donate a portion of each sale of its holiday cookie gift package this year to the United Cerebral Palsy of Orange County.

This is the time of year we see more businesses sharing their income with charities, either through direct donations or, as with Gloria’s, a part of sales, which makes individuals and other business partners in the endeavor.

Newport Rib Company recently jumped the gun, allowing patrons to pick one of 75 charities to receive a portion of their meal tab. But that was for the restaurant company’s 25th birthday.

Gloria’s Gourmet Cookies is a privately-owned specialty manufacturer of high-end authentic gourmet cookies.

The holiday packages include 20 to 36 cookies in such flavors as Lemon Drops with Crème Caramel, Lemon Drops with Raspberry, Chocolate Caramel Delight, and ChocOrange with Raspberry Jam. They sell for $15.99 to $21.99. The packages can be customized or enlarged for an additional charge.

“We are truly thankful Gloria’s Gourmet Cookies chose to benefit us through their holiday sales,” said Grant Dunning, associate executive director of United Cerebral Palsy of Orange County. “For 55 years, UCP has consistently worked to minimize the effects that a child’s disability attempts to impose.”

“It is fitting that we chose to benefit United Cerebral Palsy of Orange County throughout the holidays,” said Nairy Balian president of Arnabal International, Inc., parent company of Gloria’s Gourmet Cookies. “Children and holidays and children and cookies go hand in hand, and UCP is all about helping children with Cerebral Palsy to have happy lives.
