Inc.com, the online version of the entrepreneurs’ magazine, is again sponsoring its Best Lemonade Stand in America contest.
Kids between the ages of 5 and 12 can enter by answering a series of questions about starting and running a lemonade stand. They must submit a digital image of their stand, such as the one from “Clair,” 11, of New York (pictured left), who won Best Design in 2007.
Parents are allowed to enter the contest for their children. Submission deadline is Aug. 15.
Winners are chosen, based on creativity and interesting story, by Inc.com staff and readers. Top prize is $1,000 savings bond and a Nintendo DS. Best Design and Coolest Story also win prizes, and one entry a week is featured online. Click here for complete rules.
Surely Orange County has its share of creative young minds not content with a plain table and a pitcher of tart beverage to sell. Show them this blog post and get ‘em entered. If you want to share a photo of your lemonade stand, I’ll post it on the blog.
Who knows, your child might be the next Bill Gates. Today lemonade, tomorrow corporate giant.
If you have a tip, resource or strategy to help small businesses of any age, click here to send it to me. If I use it, I’ll give you credit and link to your Web site.
